Rhymes with "funny"

Most of the writing I'm promoting here is fairly serious. My short stories deal with tragic situations like a triple murder and a farm accident, and my novel-in-progress explores the complexities at the heart of the American Revolution. But I have a humorous side, too, mostly expressed in silly rhymes that I won't dignify by calling "poetry." In the past year, I have found my tribe for sharing my silliness: a blog called Little Old Lady Comedy. As their website proclaims, they are a home for "literary humor with exquisite taste."
The first rhyme of mine they published came to me one evening in a rush, just after I had completed my nighttime beauty ritual and was admiring the results in the mirror — without the aid of my glasses. "A Vision of Loveliness" captures that moment of enlightenment. My second rhyme, "The Hair of My Despair," is actually more of a song lyric. Written in the style of a Gilbert & Sullivan

operetta tune, it introduces a heroine whose uncontrollable hair leads her to ever more desperate acts. I drafted it a few years back, when my hair was longer and wilder, nothing like the well-mannered coiffure you see now in my author photo. If I've found my tribe at Little Old Lady Comedy, maybe I've also found my comedic niche: self-deprecating humor. Believe me, that's a rich vein of hilarity.
